Tez Pickthall

Tez Pickthall (2010)Tex Pickthall is a 33 year-old (as at 2010) professional engineer with a first class MEng in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Sheffield.  His career has spanned Automotive Quality and Project Management; Materials Processing; Industrial Market Research and Higher Education. He currently works as a Lecturer and Technical Author for the Agricultural Engineering Department at Harper Adams University College. 

Tez has a lifelong passion for railways, encompassing steam, diesel and electric traction on both narrow and standard gauges.  Growing up in rural North Norfolk, he volunteered on the Bure Valley and North Norfolk Railways before going to University. He now lives in Shropshire where he is a Director of the Association of 16mm Narrow Gauge Modellers and Publicity Officer and active volunteer for the Llangollen Diesel Group, based on the Llangollen Railway.  He also pursues an enjoyment of writing as a freelance railway author and photographer, with both written and photographic work published during 2009 in RAIL Magazine and Narrow Gauge World.  He has also had his work published in the Railway Magazine, Garden Rail and Model Engineers Workshop magazines.

Tez has only recently joined the 5AT group and has authored an article about the 5AT Project that is expected to be published shortly in the Railway Magazine.
