The 5AT project has required a substantial effort from a relatively small number of people to bring it to its current state of advancement. Those who are involved, both past and present, share the same passion for the steam locomotive as those in every other steam enthusiast society. They differ only in focussing on the future of steam traction rather than its past.
That is not to say that they don't indulge in nostalgic activities - indeed several of them are involved in heritage and preservation projects: one is a shareholder of a GWR Prairie tank; some donate time to heritage railway projects, and one is a past CME of the Steam Locomotive Owners Association (latterly Main Line Steam Locomotive Owners Limited).
Those directly involved in the project planning exercise include:
not forgetting Robin Barnes who produced so many paintings to help us promote the project.
As noted in the acknowledgements pages, valuable assistance has also been given by:
not forgetting Paul Catchpole who did much to help promote the project through editorials in his Locomotives International magazine, and Adam Harris who has done much to help the modern steam movement in general through his publishing business Camden Miniature Steam.
Many other individuals, including a considerable number within the rail industries, have also contributed by freely providing information, comments, suggestions and advice.
Additionally several people who initially contacted us via the 5AT website have been sufficiently interested in the Project to provide valuable assistance by constructing models of the 5AT and suggesting livery ideas. Their names appear elsewhere on this website.
Please note, we are very interested to hear from anyone who would like to become involved in the 5AT project, either on the engineering or commercial side. Please visit the Recruitment page of this website, or contact us directly by writing to webmaster@5at.co.uk and attaching a copy of your CV as per the attached proforma. CVs that are sent to us will be treated in the strictest confidence.
